Greetings skiers and snowboarders, your train has arrived ! A full frontal Canadian arctic air mass! As we come up on the end of the semester we can all look forward to restful holidays and time for skiing, ice fishing, sledding and pond hockey. This is the first of many posts to come covering what's fun outside in northern Minnestota. Skiing, speedskating, ice fishing, kiteboarding, ice climbing, and winter campouts. Why sit around the house when there's such a full menu of sports to try. Winter is far and away my favorite season for outdoor sports, ever since I was a kid watching the winter olympics and dreaming of ski runs and biathlon.

Stop by for news and to read about upcoming trips, or send me a photo and story of your fish, ski race, faceplant, or powdershot. I'm interested in all kinds of off the couch and out your backyard adventures, particularly non-motorized ones that involve a bit of work, skill and patience to learn. This is a great place to learn about OPC, break trips and rentals that are available to students, and to start planning for your next outing.
